Mary McIntyre’s painting "Street Music" was inspired by the color combinations used by Wassily Kandinsky, a Russian Expressionist Painter. She used a member of the Apostles, an acapella gospel group performing on the sidewalk at the Pike Place Market, as a model for this piece. Here are a few of her words that go with her piece “Glasses”: the golden winter sunlight lights up the bar during the 4:30 "happy hour" rush. This magical light transforms an old dive bar into a beautiful room as it illuminates the hardwood counters and the pint glasses sparkle like Crystal.
